What's New in the Fishing Update?

Fishing Rod & Fish Mechanics

You can now fish! Head to the Fishing Hut, where rods spawn—usually cozy and close to the campfire. Grab a rod, cast your line into one of the water spots, and you’re good to go. As you catch fish, your rod gains XP and can be upgraded from the "Old Rod" to better versions, increasing your odds of reeling in rarer fish. There are nine different fish species to hunt for.

Two New Classes

Fisherman – costs 50 Diamonds. Tailored for fishing fanatics.

Pyromaniac – costs 600 Diamonds. Wields an overpowered flamethrower—ideal for early-game firepower and cooking raw meat.

Weekly Quests

Stay engaged with new weekly challenges:

Max out your Fishing Rod → 4 Diamonds

Catch 100 Fish → Rainbow Fish Lounger + 5 Diamonds

Complete the Fish Index in the Fishing Hut → 6 Diamonds

Catch 30 Sharks → Fishbowl Furniture + 10 Diamonds

How to Play the Fishing Update (with some cool style)

1. Find your spot (and vibe)

Drop in, warm up your campfire, and explore until you locate the Fishing Hut. It’s not just a hut—it’s your new chill zone.

2. Cast away like a pro (or wannabe maestro)

Pick up a rod, find a water source, and cast. Watch the XP bar fill up as you land catches—slow burn, but payoff long-term. Once you level it up at the upgrade bench, you'll snag better fish.

3. Pick your class (choose wisely)

Fisherman: Boosts your fishing game—perfect if you plan to rely on fish for food or just love that rod swing.

Pyromaniac: Bring the heat—literally! Roast meat and melt enemies early on with your flame thrower.

4. Chase those weekly quests

They’re fun and rewarding. Want that slick fishbowl furniture? Start reeling in sharks. Hunting for Diamonds? Max the rod or fill out the Fish Index.

5. Mix it up: survival and style

Fishing’s cool, but blend it with your usual survival strategy—hunting animals, gathering crops, cooking stews—to stay well-fed. Use the Pyromaniac’s firepower to cook on the go or defend your turf.

First Things First – What Changed?

The Fishing Update didn’t just bring rods and fish. It also shuffled around treasure chest spawns, giving players more reasons to explore the forest instead of sitting in one spot. The cool part? Chests now come in tiers – think of them like loot levels, from “meh” to “legendary jackpot.”

Tier 1 – Basic Wooden Chests

Where they spawn: Around the edge of the forest paths and near small campsites.

How to spot them: They’re the most common and usually sitting out in the open like someone forgot them.

What’s inside: Small coins, low-tier bait, or junky items. Perfect if you’re just starting out.

Tier 2 – Mossy/Green Chests

Where they spawn: Deeper into the woods, often near rocks or fallen trees.

How to spot them: They blend in with the greenery, so check areas where vines hang low.

What’s inside: Mid-level bait, rare fishhooks, and a nice pile of coins.

Tier 3 – Blue/Icy Chests

Where they spawn: Near water spots – rivers, ponds, or waterfalls.

How to spot them: They sparkle a little, so if you see a shimmer by water, check it out.

What’s inside: Special rods, enchanted bait, and higher coin stacks.

Tier 4 – Epic Purple Chests

Where they spawn: Hidden in caves or behind obstacles (fallen logs, bramble walls).

How to spot them: They glow faintly purple, but you’ll usually need to push through a hidden path to reach them.

What’s inside: Rare crafting items, shiny lures, and sometimes full gear pieces.

Tier 5 – Golden Chests (Legendary)

Where they spawn: Super rare, usually on high ground spots (cliffs, tree platforms, or tower ruins).

How to spot them: You’ll literally see the golden shine from a distance if you look up.

What’s inside: Legendary rods, top-tier fish gear, and massive gold drops.

Pro Hunter’s Route (Fast Chest Run)

Start at spawn → grab Tier 1s along the main trail.

Loop into the stone ruins → Tier 2s.

Swing by the lake → Tier 3s.

Check the north cave → Tier 4.

Finish at the east tower → possible Golden Chest.

One clean run = you’ve covered every tier’s hotspot.
